Delicious Placebo

Yesterday was my birthday. It was a fantastic day with my beloved. I have to make my plea again though….

Please people, PLEASE! I can’t play NeverWiter Nights 2 unless I get myself this new PC. I can’t easily play World of Warcraft Burning Crusade. I’m almost out of hard drive space… the poor machine is about 5 years old. Help me put it to rest by making a donation towards getting the new machine. My car registration expired in December.  When I went to renew it, I found out there were “administrative flag fees” that needed to be paid.  So I paid $120 in fees to the MVA for the prior Baltimore city parking tickets I had (how they can do that I don’t know).  When I tried again to renew the registration it said I had MORE fees.  So like a good citizen I paid the fee again and paid one parking ticket I had received about two weeks prior.  Did I mention Baltimore city street cleaning is a bitch?  You have to remember which days to park your car on what side of the road…. but I’m digressing.
The next time I figure I’ll go to the MVA and speak to a real person, in person.  I wait 45 minutes for my turn and then I’m told that I STILL have outstanding tickets that must be paid before I can proceed.  I also learn that my VIEP (VEIP?) inspection letter went to my old address, I never got it, and not my plates are suspended.  I go to another window and they give me an extension and let me go.  I tried to call the city to pay off the tickets but wouldn’t you know it, it was a holiday… um… Lincoln’s Birthday.  Apparently the ONLY people in the US who get that holiday off are Baltimore city administrative staff.
So I continue to drive around with my tags that have the 12/06 expiration date on them and sure enough, last week I got pulled over.  The officer said he is supposed to confiscate my tags and impound the car but since there was a kid in the car (we’d just picked him up from school) he would let me go with just a fine.  So theres another $75 ticket.  Oh did I mention that one day while parked on the correct side of the street, I got a ticket for the expired tags.
Alright, now I’m getting seriously frustrated.  I try to go to the MVA on Saturday but they only do drivers license services on Saturdays.  Today I went to the Baltimore city website to see if I could get more information about all of these fees and tickets that are blocking my ability to renew my registration.  They have this handy little thing where you put in your license plate number and it tells you all of the tickets you’ve had, both open and closed.  So according to this chart…. including fees… I owe the city $425 for the tickets I have, 3 tickets I’m positive I paid but have no way of proving, and one red light ticket that I never even knew I got.  Until thats paid I cant renew the registration.  Its a catch 22 though you see.  If I continue to drive with expired tags I will surely get more tickets, but every time I get a ticket it prevents me from renewing my registration.

I have no idea what I’m supposed to do at this point.
